7 golden principles of eating healthy:
1. Reduce consumption of cholesterol and fat (animal and vegetable).
You can cut down by removing the visible fat from the meat, the fried fat, butter, margarine, sauces, as well as sweets.
2. Reduce consumption of meat:
If you are not ready to become a vegetarian … start improving your diet by replacing red meat (from big animals) with chicken or fish meat. Program your days so that you will have some of them “meat free” (and replace the lack of meat with vegetables and quality cheese).
3. Reduce consumption of sugar:
In 1883 people used to consume around 2.5 lbs of sugar PER YEAR. Today we use 2 lbs per week. That’s around 95 lbs per year. Besides sugar from deserts, we consume a lot of sugar hiddenin sweet products like sauces, juice, alcohol, biscuits, jellies, bread, fruit, vegetables and cereals.
The best way to solve this problem and start eating healthy is to prepare the food at home and to check the label on eachproduct you buy for types of sugar (unrefined sugar, molasses, fructose, dextrose, syrup, honey – all of these are treated the same by our body).
4. Reduce consumption of salt:
It’s not easy to ignore the shaker… but you can do it gradually. A little less salt added to salads and milk (use herbs). When you cook or bake reduce quantity of salt indicated in the recipes.
,b>5. Increase consumption of fruit, vegetable, whole grains:
When you are under great stress it is absolutely necessary to receive an adequate quantity of vitamins and minerals. By consuming a variety of natural products you will not only receive sufficient nutrients, but you’ll cover the esparto (fibers) requirements which prevent the digestive system to become lazy.
6. Analyze and improve eating conditions:
Monitor your eating for a week. Some people found out that they eat more calories in other situations than sitting at the table. Try eating only 3 times a day, sitting relaxed on a chair. Eatonly at specified times (make a schedule).
Longevity researchers have discovered that people who live longer eat less (so eating less is eating healthy…)
7. The time between meals should allow the body to digest the food:
Digestive system needs 4 hours to assimilate each meal. Drinking while eating slows the process of assimilation leading to maintaining the stomach busy thus wearing down the body.
Drink water half an hour before meal, and two hours after…
Using these words of advice to adjust your way of eating you may be able to achieve “inner peace” and vitality. And that’s eating healthy! 🙂
